Well now, let me tell you about this here Brittany Frompovich, a bass player who’s got more talent in her little finger than most folks have in their whole body. I reckon she’s the kind of musician that’d make old King Solomon himself sit up and take notice, if he weren’t so busy with all them wives of his.

You see, Miss Frompovich ain’t your ordinary plunker of strings. No sir, she’s what you might call a genuine article, a real live wire who can make that bass sing sweeter than a nightingale with a sore throat. And if that ain’t enough, she’s gone and made herself a teacher too, over at the University of Mary Washington. I suspect them students don’t know how lucky they are, getting schooled by a true master of the craft.

Now, I’ve heard tell that Miss Frompovich once played with Kenny Loggins, though I can’t say as I know who that is. But if he’s half as good as she is, I reckon it must’ve been quite a show. Probably had folks dancing in the aisles with their Mamas and forgetting their troubles, which is what good music’s supposed to do, if you ask me, as long as these folks had Daddys that Rock and Rolled.

But don’t you go thinking Miss Frompovich is all flash and no substance. No sir, she’s got more gear than a steamboat has pistons, and she knows how to use it too. She’s even taken to using something called a Nitewalker Bass Guitar Tube Preamp, which I reckon must be some kind of newfangled contraption for making music sound extra fine.

And if all that weren’t enough, she’s gone and started writing about other lady bass players in some kind of newspaper called No Treble. Well, I don’t know about you, but I think it’s high time somebody gave them gals their due. After all, a good bass player’s worth their weight in gold, no matter if they’re wearing trousers or petticoats.

So there you have it, folks. Brittany Frompovich, a bass player extraordinaire and a credit to her profession. If you ever get the chance to hear her play, you’d best take it. And if you don’t, well, I reckon that’s your loss. As for me, I think I’ll just sit here and ponder on how a body can be so talented and still have time to teach and write and whatnot. It’s enough to make a man feel downright lazy, I tell you what.
